ITINERARY

Day 01 FLIGHT LA PAZ – RURRENABAQUE

AM. Pick up from hotel / hostel in the city of La Paz and transfer to the airport in La Paz.
AM. Flight La Paz - Rurrenabaque. (Flight duration is 50 minutes). Arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon meeting at the Chalalan office where you will fill some forms to enter Madidi National Park and receive information about the trip to the lodge Chalalan and Madidi National Park.
Includes: Transportation, ticket La Paz - Rurrenabaque hotel.

Day 02 RURRENABAQUE – CHALALÁN ECOLODGE

After breakfast at the hotel , Guide pick you up at 7:20 a.m.. and transfer to the port to take the motorboat with destination to the Ecolodge. The trip takes about 5 ½ hours sailing the rivers Beni and Tuichi, the trip is an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate beautiful scenery and canyon Bala (Bala George), rainforest landscapes, with the possibility of observing some animals and birds during the trip to the port Tuíchi. (A half way along the route we serve a lunch or snack box). From the main port began a 25 minute walk along the path until you reach the lake Jaguar Chalalán where is located the Ecolodge. Reception and welcome, and accommodation in their rooms. Welcome lunch. In the afternoon, after lunch we will have a short walk in one of our themed trails, where the local guide will make the interpretation of the rainforest and its traditional use. Return by canoe to see some species of monkeys and birds.
After dinner we will begin a short hike to observe the nocturnal life of animals, especially variety of insects.

Day 03 CHALALÁN ECOLODGE – MADIDI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast at the Ecolodge we will have a guided walk of 3-4 hours per Tapacare trail or similar, where you can observe and learn about medicinal plants, animal behavior and all referring to the jungle, then after our walk , we will return to Ecolodge. Lunch. In the afternoon, after a short break (for resting), we will visit the viewpoint from where you can see the beautiful scenery of Lake Chalalán and extensive primary rainforest in the Madidi National Park. Guide Talk about the history of the community, Chalalán project and the creation of the Madidi National Park.
Dinner in the Ecolodge.
In the evening canoe ride or walk to observe nocturnal animals and night birds.
Includes: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, shared boat tour guide. Overnight at the Eco Lodge Chalalan.

Day 04 CHALALÁN ECOLODGE – RURRENABAQUE

Breakfast at the Ecolodge. Very early we will have a short walk along one of our trails where you will have your last chance to see some animals and birds. Return to the lodge. Lunch. After lunch, we walk to the port to board the Chalalán motor boat back to Rurrenabaque. During the trip it is recommended to always be attentive and observant on route, to not miss the change to see some animals. The return trip takes only 3 hours. Rurrenabaque Arrival and accommodation at the hotel.
Includes: Breakfast, lunch, shared boat + hotel in Rurrenabaque.

Day 05 FLIGHT RURRENABAQUE – LA PAZ

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to the airport.
AM. Flight Rurrenabaque - La Paz.
Includes: Breakfast and transfer to airport + ticket Rurrenabaque - La Paz.

• NOTE: We recommend getting the vaccine against yellow fever.

NOTES

WHAT TO BRING: (Appropriate clothing for moisture for tropical climate)

• Long sleeve shirts if possible cotton (for mosquito protection and sun).
• Long (to protect against mosquitoes and the sun) Trousers, thick jeans are not recommended.
• Lightweight windbreaker.
• 2 pairs of slippers.
• A pair of sandals
